product rating: ABSOLUTE NECESSITY AS OF RIGHT NOW!!!
i have a good friend who owns a 1999 martin d-41 (figure 1 below, wonderful, wonderful guitar).
he's been serving as an interim worship leader at a church plant in phoenix. a few weeks ago he and i sorta joked about how neither of us know anything about guitar humidifiers. i think the conversation went something like this:
"hey geno, do you know anything about guitar humidifiers?"
"not really. they seem stupid to me, and it's low on the research list right now."
"yeah they seem lame."
2 weeks later chris was polishing his guitar and realized that the phoenix winter had put a serious crack in the face of his guitar. we were both heart-broken. it's like a child with a broken limb...only it will never really heal.
the good news is that my friend has insurance on his guitar, but most of us don't.
the better news is that you can pick up a Planet Waves Humidifier for your guitar (or other wood instruments) for only $12. sure there are some out there for $50-$60, or even $140!! but all you really only need the Planet Waves one. it's simple and cheap and does its job...it gives your guitar much needed moisture.
check out the Planet Waves site for their Humidifiers (Image 2 below)
